Washington Parish Grand Jury Indicts Four Washington Parish Men
for Attempted First-Degree Murder and Other Charges in Bogalusa Drive-By Shooting

Franklinton – District Attorney J. Collin Sims reports that on May 6, 2024, a Washington Parish grand jury indicted Sincere Craft, age 20 of Bogalusa, Jordon Elmo Smith, Jr., age 20 of Bogalusa, Jordon E. Smith Sr, age 41 of Bogalusa and Chaston O. Dyson, age 18 of Angie.

Smith Jr, Craft and Dyson were indicted for attempted first-degree murder.  Smith Jr. and Craft were also indicted for aggravated criminal damage to property, illegal use of weapons and assault by drive-by shooting. Craft was also indicted for illegal carrying of weapons while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of Oxycodone and two counts of illegal possession of stolen firearms. Smith Sr. was indicted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. This incident involved a drive-by shooting in Bogalusa on May 10, 2023. 

Detective Tyler Lindsey with the Bogalusa Police Department headed the investigation.  Assistant District Attorney Tiffany Dover presented the case to the grand jury.
