Washington Parish Grand Jury Indicts a Bogalusa Man with First Degree Murder
FRANKLINTON – District Attorney Warren Montgomery announces that on October 10, 2023, a Washington Parish grand jury indicted David Huey Rester, Jr., age 51, of Bogalusa, Louisiana of the 1st degree murder of Marl Wayne Smith. Smith was shot at the Pub Lounge in Bogalusa on March 2, 2022. Rester was a past law enforcement officer in the state of Mississippi.
Detective Corbet Hunt and Captain Raymond Myers of the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated the case. Assistant District Attorney Ronnie Gracianette presented the case to the Grand Jury.
