Two Former Employees Charged with Embezzling Public Funds from the Town of Abita Springs

District Attorney Collin Sims reports that 55-year-old Stacy Ludlow of Mandeville and 41-year-old Frederick Young of Abita Springs have been formally charged with various offenses related to the embezzlement of over $250,000 in public funds from the Town of Abita Springs.  The charges follow a lengthy investigation conducted by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor (LLA) and were filed today by the District Attorney’s Office upon receipt of LLA’s investigative report.  Ludlow, the former Finance Director for the Town of Abita Springs, is charged with theft over $25,000, money laundering over $100,000 and malfeasance in office, all alleged to have occurred between 2019 and 2023.  Young, the former Public Works Supervisor for the town, is charged with theft over $25,000, alleged to have occurred between 2021 and 2023.  Arrest warrants have been issued for both individuals.  Court dates will be set after the arrest warrants have been executed.
