St. Tammany Parish Grand Jury Indicts Homeless Man on Second-Degree Murder
COVINGTON – District Attorney Warren Montgomery announces that on November 8, 2023, a St. Tammany Parish grand jury indicted Vernon Lee, age 59, originally from North Carolina, on a charge of second-degree murder. The victim, Billie Blakley, a long-time girlfriend was found dead in June of 2023.
Detectives Detective Matthew Morrison of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated the case. Assistant District Attorneys Caroline Barkerding presented the case to the Grand Jury.
