Slidell Man Pleads Guilty and is Sentenced for Pornography Crimes Against Juveniles
District Attorney Warren Montgomery reports that on June 12, 2023, Zachary Jay Rizzotto, 31, of Slidell, pled guilty to 10 counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13. District Judge John Keller sentenced him to 10 years in prison, to be served without the benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence. Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison. Rizzotto had no prior arrest history.
Based on a tip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children between July and August of 2021, Special Agents with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation began investigating the defendant’s online activities. As a result of the investigation, the agents executed a search warrant on the defendant’s residence and recovered multiple images of children engaged in sexual acts. The defendant was arrested and transported to jail.
In a post-Miranda interview, the defendant admitted to viewing and trading images of child pornography online.
Supervisory Special Agent Brian D. Brown and Special Agent April Lucia of the Louisiana Bureaus of Investigation, Special Agent Jason Young with Homeland Security Investigations and Sergeant Jason Mire and Detective Adam Driskell with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated the case. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Christina Fisher.
