PEARL RIVER- District Attorney Warren Montgomery reports that a St. Tammany Parish jury found Scott McCoy, 45, of Pearl River, guilty Wednesday (June 19th) of attempted indecent behavior with juveniles. McCoy faces up to three and a half years in prison and will be required to register as a sex offender. Assistant District Attorney William Macke prosecuted the case with the assistance of Assistant District Attorney Holly McGinness.

McCoy had chaperoned an event in June of 2017 where he provided alcohol to juveniles. Following a complaint to law enforcement, detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into sexual abuse that was reported to have been committed by McCoy at his home.  The investigation concluded to McCoy’s arrest on August 18th, 2017. Sentencing is set for July 1st.
