Douglas Casborn
CONVINGTON—-District Attorney Warren Montgomery reports that Douglas Casborn, age 54 of Slidell, pled guilty as charged on Monday, February 9th, 2015, to aggravated flight from an officer, aggravated obstruction of a highway, and possession of cocaine. Casborn also pled guilty as charged to two counts of first degree robbery. 22nd Judicial District Judge William Knight sentenced Casborn to 27 years in prison as a career criminal. Assistant District Attorney Nick Noriea, Jr. prosecuted the State’s case.
Casborn has prior felony convictions for forgery, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, distribution of cocaine, aggravated battery, and theft.
Casborn was arrested in October 2014 by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Officer after a traffic stop. The Deputy attempted to stop Casborn’s vehicle after realizing that Casborn‘s license plate matched that of a vehicle that was was involved in robberies earlier in the month. Casborn sped away running red lights at a high rate of speed on Highway 433 until he ran off the road at Silver Oak. Casborn wrestled with the Deputy before being arrested. Casborn was found to be in possession of cocaine.
