CONVINGTON—-District Attorney Warren Montgomery reports that Jeremy Wise, age 26 of Slidell, has pled guilty as charged to three drug charges and a home invasion charge. 22nd Judicial District Judge William Burris sentenced Wise to 15 years in prison for possession of marijuana 3rd offense, 5 years in prison for possession of cocaine, and 5 years in prison for possession of alprazolam, to be served consecutively for a total of 25 years. Judge Burris also sentenced Wise to 15 years in prison for the home invasion charge to be served concurrently with the other sentences. Assistant District Attorney Bruce Dearing prosecuted the State’s case.

Wise has three prior felony convictions for burglary, three for possession of marijuana, two for injuring public records, one for possession of testosterone, and one for theft.

Wise was arrested in August 2014 by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Slidell Police Department after a search of a Slidell mobile home. Police went to the trailer hoping to arrest a wanted man when Wise opened the door. Wise denied knowing the fugitive before consenting to a search. Police found a marijuana cigarette in an ash tray and alprazolam, cocaine, and marijuana hidden in a closet.
