Mississippi Man Indicted in Rape of 8-year-old in Slidell
COVINGTON—A St. Tammany Parish grand jury indicted Lloyd Joseph Weysham, 61, of Kiln, Mississippi, Thursday (August 24) of first degree rape of a victim under 13.
Weysham is accused of raping an 8-year-old girl who had been left in his care in a Slidell home in June of this year. The 11-year-old sister of the victim told authorities that she witnessed the crime while pretending to be asleep and then called a family member to report the incident.
The family member contacted the St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office, which arrested Weysham.
