COVINGTON—District Attorney Warren Montgomery reports that Larry W. Robinson, Jr., 46, of Houston, pleaded guilty Monday (April 24) to the forcible rape of a 5-year-old girl three years ago. As part of the plea agreement, he was sentenced to 35 years in prison without the benefit of parole and required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, if he is ever released.

Robinson raped the girl in an Abita Springs home while she was left in his care. The crime came to light when the child described to a teacher one day at school what Robinson did to her on multiple occasions. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated the case. The evidence consisted of the victim’s statement and statements from others involved in the investigation, including employees of the Children’s Advocacy Center.

Assistant District Attorney Blair Alford prosecuted the case with the assistance of Assistant District Attorney Blake Peters. The parents of the victim supported the terms of the plea agreement.
