Loranger Man Pleads Guilty to Two Counts of Indecent Behavior with a Victim Under the Age of 13 for Crimes that Occurred in Folsom Louisiana

COVINGTON—District Attorney Warren Montgomery reports that Daniel Philip Chappetta, 49, of Loranger, Louisiana, pled guilty to two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile under 13 on Monday, February 28, 2023, before District Judge John Keller. Judge Keller sentenced Chappetta to 15 years in prison without the benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.

In May of 2020, Saint Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit received a complaint of inappropriate behavior with a female juvenile. The victim disclosed to officers that her mother’s live-in boyfriend had, on multiple occasions between November 5, 2019 and May 22, 2020, touched her inappropriately, kissed her and forced her to touch him inappropriately.

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated the case and issued a warrant for Chappetta’s arrest in September of 2020.

Assistant District Attorney Christina Fisher prosecuted the case.
