COVINGTON—District Attorney Warren Montgomery reports that a St. Tammany Parish grand jury indicted Danearl Brown, 46, of LaPlace, on a charge of second degree murder in the death of a Mandeville man from a drug overdose.
Brown is accused of selling heroin last year to the 47-year-old victim, who used the controlled dangerous substance and died of drug overdose. Prosecutors allege that the heroin Brown sold to the victim was a direct cause of the victim’s death.
Assistant District Attorney Jay Adair presented the case to the grand jury.
