Lacombe Man Found Guilty of 12 Counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under Age 13
District Attorney Warren Montgomery reports that on April 25, 2023 a St. Tammany Parish jury found Randall Sturdivant, 54, of Lacombe, guilty of 12 counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles under age 13.
On November 15, 2021, a Louisiana Probation and Parole Agent conducted a check on the defendant, at his residential complex in Lacombe. Sturdivant had been on “parole and supervised release” and as part of those guidelines, the agent inspected the defendant’s cell phone. He found a video of a pre-pubescent girl engaged in vaginal intercourse with an adult male. The agent arrested the defendant for this violation and seized his phone and computer. As per protocol, the agent contacted a Special Agent in the Cyber Crime Unit at the Attorney General’s Office. He handed the items off to her and she obtained a search warrant in order to conduct a more thorough search.
The cyber-crime agent found a total of 12 videos wherein prepubescent children, including toddlers, were being vaginally raped and or posed in a manner in which their genitalia were exhibited. The agent then interviewed the defendant in jail where he admitted that he had downloaded the child porn and had saved them to a secure folder on his cellphone.
Because of his multiple prior convictions, including multiple sex offenses that occurred in other parishes (indecent behavior with a juvenile and attempted indecent behavior with a juvenile) he is facing life in prison when he is sentenced by District Judge William H. Burris on July 19, 2023.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Iain Dover and Fred Treschwig. The investigation was handled by Special Agent April Lucia with the Cyber Crime Unit of the Attorney General’s Office, Probation and Parole Officer Steve Everly, and Sergeant Angie Cook with the Sex Offender Registry Division of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.
