District Attorney Warren Montgomery spoke with Jeff Crouere at WGSO 990 AM to discuss how his office is handling its responsibilities during the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak. He talked about how his office has continued to serve the public through the use of technology, all the while raising efficiency and cutting costs. He also spoke about testing new and released inmates, the potential release of some inmates and the necessary balancing act between public health and public safety. More generally, the D.A. addressed how his office has been able to save the St. Tammany Parish government almost $1 million a year through changes implemented in the D.A.’s office in his first 5 years in office.
