Civil Division Chief Tony LeMon, who also heads our Diversion Program, spent part of last week, volunteering in the Baton Rouge area. Tony helped his neighbor’s parents, who live in Greenwell Springs in East Baton Rouge, clean out their heavily flooded home. Tony joined a group of friends and neighbors who volunteered to tear down interior walls and insulation and remove the home’s contents. Just as the group started to show signs of fatigue, two Marines showed up to help. Seeing up close the damage that families suffered was gut-wrenching, Tony said. But families have been so moved by the kindness of people they’ve never met. Let’s keep the volunteer efforts going!
