St. Tammany Parish Grand Jury Returns Indictment in Murder Case

October 28, 2025

District Attorney Collin Sims reports that on October 22, 2025, a St. Tammany Parish grand jury indicted 17-year-old Lionel Mack and 17-year-old Traveon Elbert, both of Slidell, on charges of Second degree murder, Conspiracy to commit armed robbery and Obstruction of justice.  The charges relate to the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Todd Anthony Grant Jr. on July 24, 2025.  Detective Shawn Chopin with the Slidell Police Department headed the investigation.  Assistant District Attorney Ronald Gracianette presented the case to the grand jury.  Mack and Elbert are set for arraignment before Judge William H. Burris on October 29, 2025.
