Covington Man Pleads Guilty and is Sentenced to 20 Years for
Multiple Sex Charges with a Victim Under 17
District Attorney Warren Montgomery reports that on Monday, October 9, 2023, Gregory Hendrickson, age 37 of Covington, pled guilty to aggravated crime against nature involving a victim under 17, possession of pornography involving juveniles and computer aided solicitation of a minor under 17. He was sentenced by District Judge William Burris to 20 years in prison without parole.
In April of 2021, the defendant’s wife contacted law enforcement after she found inappropriate text messages and photographs of the juvenile victim’s private parts on her husband’s phone.
Law enforcement scheduled a forensic interview of the victim during which she disclosed that the defendant had been sexually abusing her almost daily since she was 15 years old. She stated that if she didn’t comply with his sexual demands, he would become angry and “punch holes in the sheetrock.”
The victim also disclosed that the defendant had given her a “sex toy” and attempted to coerce her into using it. During execution of a search warrant, detectives recovered the sex toy. After the defendant’s arrest was publicized, the defendant’s former employer contacted law enforcement regarding a pornographic video found on the defendant’s work computer. When detectives reviewed the video, they discovered it was a recording surreptitiously made by the defendant of him sexually assaulting the victim.
Former St. Tammany Parish Detective Amy Arthur investigated the case, Brian Brown of the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation assisted in the investigation. Assistant District Attorney Fred Treschwig prosecuted the case. The victim and her family were present at the sentencing but chose not to give an impact statement.
