FRANKLINTON—A Washington Parish grand jury indicted two men Tuesday (Aug. 29) in separate rape cases. The defendants and their charges are as follows:
- Gary W. Mayfield, 64, of Shreveport, charged with aggravated oral sexual battery of a victim under 12, aggravated rape of a victim under 12, and aggravated incest for alleged crimes that took place from June 13, 1999, when the victim was 9 years old, through August 1, 2004.
- Landon Scott Spears, 40, of Franklinton, charged with first degree rape of a victim under 13 in the rape of a child who was 3 years old when the incident occurred between April 1, 2017, and May 28, 2017.
