April is nationally recognized as Child Abuse Prevention Month. It is a time when our communities can come together to bring awareness to the issue of child abuse.
Today, local agencies met outside of the Justice Center in Covington, to plant a pinwheel garden. The blue pinwheel is a symbol of the healthy, happy, and full childhoods that all children deserve.

In attendance were: D.A. Collin Sims and members of his staff as well as members of the Children’s Advocacy Center-Hope House team, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Covington Police Department (Covington, LA), and the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services.

Please consider planting your own pinwheel garden and also consider taking a FREE abuse prevention training class, being offered to adults and children at The Hope House. Visit www.cachopehouse.org/preventionApril for more information.
